Department Description:
The Product Development Group in Burlington, conceives, designs, and builds Solid State Lighting Luminaires and technology for a global market. Our customers include lighting designers worldwide who specify our fixtures in a wide variety of applications from high-end architectural landmarks (The London Eye, CN Tower) to Entertainment Venues (Superbowl half-time show, Red Hot Chili Peppers tour) to local restaurants (Grill 23 in Boston). In addition, our products are sold to OEM customers that embed our technology in their products including Kohler, Jandy and a variety of others.
The software engineering team is an integral part of the product development group in Burlington and develops applications for configuring and controlling the entire range of Philips Color Kinetics LED luminaires, controllers and power supplies.
Candidate Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and maintain software applications that configure and control small to large scale installations of LED lighting. The applications are GUI based and leverage a cross-platform framework that can target Mac OSX and Windows operating systems.
In this position the candidate will contribute to all aspects of the development cycle, from design through implementation to test and deployment. The development process is Agile-inspired and utilizes software tools intended to maximize efficiency and communication within the team.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

5+ years experience developing desktop software apps using C++ on Windows

Demonstrated ability to apply principles of OOD and OOP

Passionate about writing clean, easy to read code

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Previous experience using TCP/IP, UDP and related technologies for client/server communication

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

BS or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline
Nice To Have

Previous experience developing cross-platform applications using Qt
-
Previous experience developing applications for Mac OSX

Previous experience working with serial communication interfaces such as RS-485 and USB
