Group leader

The Lehrstuhl für Technische Chemie II at the Department of Chemistry of the Technische Universität München seeks applicants for the position of a Group leader (E13 TV-L).

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in Catalysis with respect to Chemistry and/or Chemical Engineering. The successful applicant is expected to work in a dynamic and international team addressing fundamental problems in synthesizing and converting hydrocarbons for sustainable energy carriers. Ideally, the candidate should have strong background knowledge and interest in the field of catalyzed biomass and hydrocarbon conversion to energy carriers and platform chemicals, as well as in catalyst synthesis and characterization. Candidates with an appropriate academic qualification (PhD) should submit a statement of motivation, research interest, and previous research accomplishments including a list of publications, the CV including undergraduate and graduate diploma transcripts, as well as the contact information of 2−3 peers willing to give reference. We expect the candidates to have excellent experimental, communication and writing skills. These should be verified by first-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals. Scientific qualification in the German university system (Habilitation) is encouraged.
