Member of academic staff/Postdoctoral Fellow

At TU Dresden, Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Institute of Power Engineering, the Chair of Combustion, Heat and Mass Transfer a Circulating Fluidized Bed facility (CFB) with the thermal power of about 300 kW is operated. It is used for the investigation of fundamental problems of gasification and for the combustion processes (also oxy-fuel) by practical research of fossil and biogenic fuels and for student education.

At the Chair of Combustion, Heat and Mass Transfer the position as

Member of academic staff/Postdoctoral Fellow (E 13 TV-L)

is announced. The vacancy can be filled as soon as possible and it is at first limited to 3 years (The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act).
Responsibilities: Establishment of a research group in the field of CFB-technology; administration of the research group; application and coordination of research projects; project controlling; execution of independent and interdisciplinary research activities; interface between PhD students and professor, assistance of term papers and diploma theses; development of mathematic models and experimental studies with regard to ignition, combustion behavior and pollutant aspects in CFB; own publications and participation in publications in the area of research are fundamental.
Requirements: scientific graduate degree and graduation (PhD) in the field of mechanical science and engineering, specialised in power engineering, respectively relevant knowledge in gasification and combustion in CFB of fossil and biogenic fuels and numerical modeling; strong interest in theoretical and experimental scientific working; interest in technical and scientific questions and ability for interdisciplinary cooperation; very good language skills in English, knowledge of the German language is desirable or can also be acquired (by the daily work).
